In March 2018, SAHARA REPORTERS investigations revealed that two high-end properties in London belonged to Ekweremadu.
United Kingdom land registry documents exclusively obtained by SAHARA REPORTERS lists the addresses of the properties as 52 Aylestone Avenue, London, NW6 7AB and Flat 4, Varsity Court, 44, Homer Street, London, W1H 4NW.
The first property with title number MX361292, is on a freehold which implies that Ekweremadu has outright ownership of the property and the land on which it stands.
But in the records, it is owned by a company identified as Property Circle Limited, incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, but in care of Trident Trust Company (B.V.I.) Limited, Trident Chambers, PO Box 146, Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands and of Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, founder of Zinox Technologies.
The document also list the price paid for the property on January 27, 2011, as £2,900,000.
Meanwhile, the second property is on a freehold, held by SJW Estates Limited of 15 Esplanade, of St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands, JE1 1RB, and two leases, with one held by Ikeoha Foundation of Nigeria, an organization established by Ekweremadu.
Also, the foundation which is incorporated in Nigeria, is listed as having its addresses as Flat 4, Varsity Court 44 Homer Street, London W1H 4NW and of 14 Iyienu Street, Independence Layout, P. O. Box 3615, Enugu, Nigeria.
The documents obtained by SAHARA REPORTERS indicates that the ownership information was valid as at February 18, 2018 with the price of the property listed as £830,000.
These two properties puts Ekweremadu’s net worth at about £4,000,000 without his other holdings and properties.
Ekweremadu’s properties in the USA which he acquired in 2008 were said to have been sold hastily when EFCC began to investigate him.
The DSP put two of his three undeclared properties located in Kissimmee, Florida, United States of America on the market in January 2018 and sold it to same buyer in February 2018 at a $50,000 loss, having acquired both properties in 2008 for $200,000.
EFCC investigation also revealed that Ekweremadu has eight properties in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, Ekweremadu is said to have over 22 properties scattered around the world including Nigeria.
Ekweremadu’s net-worth may be shrouded in secrecy but once in a while, he shows off his wealth and affluence.
In December 2017, the DSP was spotted at Tony Elumelu’s Christmas party, rocking a shirt worth N680,000.
